1. Help, O Lord for none are godly.
Faithfulness has disappeared.
Lips that utter lies and flatter,
with a double heart they cheer.
May the Lord cut off wicked.
With their tongues they make great boasts.
How they falsely call thee master,
yet behave as all they own.
2. Lo, the poor have been despoiled,
and the lowly weep and groan.
Rise, O Lord, for thou wilt guard them,
protect them from those who scorn.
Lord, thy words are pure and flawless–
gold refined times sevenfold!
God will ever keep the needy.
Praise thee, Lord, our help of old.
