TITLE: Psalm 10: Turn Your Face upon the Wicked, Lord METER: Aurelia 7.6.7.6 D SCRIPTURAL SETTING: Psalm 10
1. O Lord, do you stand far off
in times of toil and strife?
In times of greatest trouble
it feels as though you hide.
The wicked have grown haughty.
They persecute the poor.
May they become entangled–
by their own nets ensnared.
2. The wicked seem to prosper.
They scoff within their heart.
They lie in wait in ambush.
They lurk within the dark.
Like lions in their covert,
they drag the poor away.
They think God has forgotten.
God has hidden God’s face.
3. Rise up, O Lord! Lift your hand.
Forget not the oppressed.
For you take note of trouble.
The helpless find their rest.
Seek out the evildoers
until no more remain.
The Lord is ruler ever.
The lowly God maintains.
