1. I cry to you out of the depths.
Lord, hear my voice and what I ask!
If you, O Lord, should mark my stain,
then who, O Lord, would still remain?
2. But with you is forgiveness near
that your great name may be revered.
In your word, Lord, I hope and wait
more than those who watch for daybreak.
3. O Israel, hope in your God,
for with the Lord is steadfast love.
With God is power to redeem
Israel from iniquity.
